Corfu’s coastline

Corfu’s coastline is captivatingly beautiful. From the impressive architecture of Corfu town, with it’s venetian influence and fortresses, the coastline winds in and out of small bays with pebble beaches. The promontories are clad in olive trees, the rich green contrasting beautifully with the turquoise waters. There are fishing villages with picturesque harbours and welcoming tavernas with wooden jetties that run out into the sea. Exploring Corfu’s coastline by boat is incredibly rewarding and an experience not to be missed. Boat hire is readily available from the beaches and resorts along the coastal road. By boat you can discover hidden coves and secluded beaches where you can drop anchor and enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. Lunch at a beachside taverna is a must. Relax and enjoy the hospitality of the Corfiot people and sample their mouth-watering, traditional Greek dishes.

The coastline along the west of the island is renown for it’s fabulous sandy beaches and is popular with families. Between the sandy beaches, especially around the Paleokastritsa area, dramatic cliffs display their fascinating strata and offer a complex of caves where the water colours are deep blue and turquoise.
